Worked out awesome. I bought this for a buddy for his used truck. The previous owners for what ever reason took it. Plugged it in and worked flawlessly.

by:

It is a direct OEM replacement, easy installation. What I liked most was a real person answered my call and took my order, Katherine was very polite and knowledgeable. Thanks again. CJ

No issues at all.

2004 Nissan Titan

The 3 star rating is because this is not a direct replacement for a Nissan Armada. I bought this to replace the original socket on a 2004 Nissan armada. The hitch on the car says it is a Nissan hitch. I did not notice that the original socket mounted as a twist lock type and the bracket had no mounting screws when I ordered this socket. In defense of the manufacture and distributor of this socket the description did not say it was a direct replacement for an armada the assumption would be that the hitch would be the same as a titan. This was no big deal for me since I had a drill and bits to drill mounting holes and used # 8 sheet metal screws. Just have to be careful to drill the holes the right size so they self thread properly. I have been looking to see if there is a direct replacement for the original socket but can't seem to find one not even on Nissan's parts web site so I guess you just have to do what I did. I didn't think to take a video of the installation but I have included a picture of the finished install.

Works the. Way I need. Thanks

I had to replace the socket in my truck after I forgot to disconnect the plug when setting up my camper 1 year ago. Since then, I've connected the camper 35 times and pulled it over 6,000 miles. I have had no issues at all with the new socket.

2016 Porsche Cayenne

It fit right up to my 2016 Porsche Cayenne diesel. A very simple installation.

by:

This is it!! If you have a Porsche Cayenne with a tow package (mine's a 2017) and you're wondering why the wiring "connector" that came from the factory is just a plate with nothing to plug in to... This is the thing you need! It fits the holes in the mounting bracket perfectly and plugs right into the harness coming out of the car (after you carefully release the little clip holding the clip connecting the plate to the harness (no, that's not a typo). I also purchased a matching 7 to 4-pin adapter, so I can easily connect to either. And etrailer had it all... and made it easy. Quick shipping, just as promised. Love e-Trailer! :)

by:

It fit perfect and was literally plug and play.

by:

Still working after a year. Performs as expected. Easy to install.

by:
1995 Ford F-250 Super Duty

After redoing my trailer wiring harness to put a socket in the bed of my 1995 F250, I used this to replace the old socket in my bumper. Saved me having to do more splicing and hard wiring in the old socket.

After a year of use, this is still working great. I don’t use it a lot as most of my towing is of the 5th wheel using the in-bed connector.

by:

Easy to install and has worked every si nce

by:
2000 Toyota Tundra

Hi, I am a ASE Certified Automotive technician for 30-plus years. I have to say these parts are Factory quality, the option for Direct Fit everything plugs right into the wiring harnesses fits as if they came as original equipment with the vehicle and the same quality. When ordering parts if you call and speak to an operator that extremely helpful and actually know what's going on. And their tech support this extremely knowledgeable.

by:

Nice fit to my factory harness. This was a replacement for the factory hitch mount. I decided to drill a hole and mount in the bumper like I’ve seen on other vehicles. This makes for a convenient and protected location.

by:
2008 Porsche Cayenne

This is the original plug and play. For VW SUV's this does the trick. I recommend using some anti-seize on the bolts that secure this into the mount. I have this on both an Audi and a Porsche both work great. The picture shows what the car some with so you simply plug this unit into the factory socket and secure with 4 machine screws.

by:

  • Will the Pollack 7-Way Trailer End Connector Fit on a 2009 Honda Ridgeline
As long as your 2009 Honda Ridgeline has a 7-Way vehicle end trailer socket that looks similar to part # PK11893, then the Pollak 7-Way Trailer End Connector, # PK12706, will connect to your vehicle. The connector that you referenced is the trailer side connector and should be connected to the wires on the trailer. I have attached a trailer wiring article for you to check out that will help when installing the 7-way trailer connector on your trailer. If you do not have a 7-way socket...

  • Troubleshooting Electric Lockout on Trailer with Surge Coupler
Your description of your trailer setup indicates that your surge coupler has an electric lockout feature to allow you to reverse the trailer without the surge brakes engaging. Some surge couplers use a manual lockout but yours has a solenoid with two wires (ground and hot) that take in the truck's reverse light signal; this closes the solenoid so no hydraulic brake fluid pressure can reach your brakes when you back up. Somewhere in your wiring you are losing your connection to the Silverado's...

  • Troubleshooting Tekonsha P3 90195 Brake Controller Not Reading Trailer Brakes
A brake controller will send our a small amount of test voltage that can sense the resistance from the brake magnets and determine if a trailer is plugged in. When the brake controller fails to 'read' the trailer, it's typically caused by one of three things: • A damaged or corroded trailer connector on the truck can prevent the signal described above from reaching the trailer brake magnets. If you see any green or white corrosion on the pins of the connector, there's a good possibility...

I have attached a photo of the layout for a standard 7-way connector you can check out. This should be the same layout as the plug you are replacing on your 2004 Chevrolet Suburban. If you had an aftermarket 7-way plug installed you may need to use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to check the wire functions and make sure they are connected as shown in the attached photo.

  • The Pollak 7-Way Connector Doesn't Match The Wiring On My 2011 Chevy Silverado 1500
The Pollak Replacement 7-Pole # PK11893 is intended as a factory replacement for a damaged OEM 7-Way, so it will utilize the standard snap in style design (pictured) found on Ford, Chevy, GMC and Nissan trucks and SUVs. With that said, I am not aware of any 7-Way connectors that use a twist lock style connection, so you may want to cut that side off and replace it with the 4' Pigtail Wiring Harness # PK11998. This uses the standard snap in style that the # PK11893 has and they will connect...

If you have a factory seven way trailer connector on your 2010 Toyota Tacoma there's probably a 90% chance it's either going to be the Pollak Replacement 7-Pole, RV-Style Trailer Connector Socket part # PK11893 or 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket part # HM40975. These both install using the same USCAR plug so they will be direct plug-in replacements.
