Speaker 1: Today, we're going to take a look at the Hopkins Endurance twist mount 7-way RV trailer Connector, part number HM40930. This is what the connector looks like once installed on the truck. This fits all Chevrolet and GMC trucks that have this style hitch and this bracket right here. Now this is a great replacement for your original connector, like this one right here, which is getting sun damage, and the plastic get brittle over time. Or a lot of times, I see these guys just smashed. One thing you really don't see, it's hard to tell, but inside these pins here, you'll end up getting with corrosion inside there. At that point, there's nothing that you can do but replace it, and that's where Hopkins part comes into play.Same as the original connector.
It's a seven-pin connector with flat pins. Of course, you got your round pin the middle for your reverse light circuit. Same key way, so it works with all 7-pole connectors that are out there. Has a lid that snaps tight. It also has a little seal around the edge to help protect it from the elements. Now our entire housing for our 7-pole connector, is created from ABS plastic.
Of course, though, except the internals, where the metal is needed. Let's take a look at the back side here. You can see where our factory wire harness plugs right into it. So it's very easy to install. No cutting or splicing.
It's designed to be a direct factory replacement. Now's the time to go ahead and try it out and test it.You at home, would probably use a test light, or just use your trailer to make sure everything works. I don't have a trailer handy, so I'm going to use one of my testers from my shop. First off, we have a running light circuit, our left turn signal, our right turn signal. Let's check our brake signal, which we should have a constant output on our left and right turn.
Okay. Now we'll try our brake controller, make sure the output there. And we'll also look for a reverse light circuit. Finally, we'll double check for our 12 volt power that goes out to our trailer for various accessories. And we've got battery power there. Now to give you something to compare it to, such as a Pollack twist in 7-pole RV style trailer connector, part number PK11916. There is a couple little differences to them. Now the lid on the Pollack has a legend to tell you what circuit does what inside the connector, which is kind of neat, although our Hopkins one doesn't have that, but I think it looks a little bit sleeker. They both have spring loaded lids. And they're both designed to keep out dust and moisture, of course. But our Pollack has a slot and a slightly angled design, to allow for drainage if any moisture gets in there.A quick review from Elwood say, "It seems to be of good quality. Purchased to replace the OEM plug that had rusted after nine years." I think you got your mileage out of that one. This is a good replacement. And that'll finish it for Hopkins Endurance twist mount 7-way RV trailer connector, part number HM40930.

Quickly and easily replace a damaged 7-way, RV-style trailer connector, or add a new one to your vehicle with a factory tow package. The twist-in socket has heavy-duty weatherproofing and features a cover that opens 180 degrees.Great fit for replacement of original plug. I had to sandblast the original hitch in order to get rid of all the rust. I purchased this plug to replace the original OEM plug. Fit and works great.

Excellent Customer Service. Product Works Great. Holds Male Connector/Cord In Place. Did Not Get Warning Message On Instrument Cluster To Check Trailer WIring. Very Fast And Easy Install
Plugged to existing wiring, easy to ins tall
Fits correctly in the bracket and connected to the factory harness. The lights check out, but I don't have the trailer breaks and aux power hooked up yet to try them out.
Fits even though packaging said newer model. Carol was responsive and totally answered my questions. Unlike this guy Huff who initially recommended product as my emails went unanswered.
Thanks etrailer.
DO NOT buy anything else !! the fit tolerance on other similar products is BAD, but this one is PERFECT ! don't risk reversing your plug and burning your wires !!! BUY this one and the pigtail of the same brand.
