Question:
My son has a 2005 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD and the trailer socket is broke. It wont stay tight in the bracket that is on the trailer hitch from the factory. Will this PK11916 replace the factory socket? It appears the the plastic flange on the bottom of the factory socket is broken off.

Expert Reply:
If your pickup has a factory 7-Way connector that is mounted in the rear bumper then the Twist-in, 7-Pole, RV-Style Trailer Connector for Chevy and GMC Vehicles, item # PK11916, should work. If the factory connector is mounted to the hitch then you would need the 7-Way US Replacement Connector, item # PK11893, to replace the 7-Way.
If your bracket is damaged then you could use the Replacement Multi-Tow 7-Way and 4-Way Trailer Connectors for Ford, GM Trucks with Factory 7 Way, item # 30955, which includes a bracket for mounting the connector.
