Bike Frame Adapter Bar

Swagman Deluxe Adapter Bar Easy InstallationSwagman Deluxe Adapter Bar Easy Installation

This adapter bar allows you to carry a bike with a sloping top tube or step-through frame on your bike rack. It fits between the seat post and handlebar stem post of your bike to ensure level transport on your hanging-style bike rack. It also creates a top tube so you can carry your bike on frame-mount platform-style rack. The spring-loaded bar telescopes to fit multiple frame sizes, and it can be used with no-rise bike stems.

Easy Installation

Swagman Deluxe Adapter Bar Vinyl Collars

To install the adapter bar simply open the hooks with the integrated release buttons, wrap one hook around your handlebar stem post and the other around your seat post, and close the hooks. The hooks open outward - parallel with the bar - to help you avoid interference from the seat and handlebars during installation. The bar has red "Up" indicators on each end to help prevent incorrect installation. The hooks have a vinyl coating that won't scratch or scuff your bikes' paint.

by:

would like it lockable, so I didn't need add'l lock to my bike rack other than the holddown that loops over the bar to hold the bike in...

by:

The adapter bar is probably fine if you have to have it-the quality of the part seems fine. Don’t buy it from etrailer though if you think you might need to return it. Unlike [online stores], they don’t accept returns on bike racks if you have assembled the rack, so they may well have the same policy for this adapter. I bought the HR1500 bike rack with these adapter bars, but the right solution would have been the HR1700. They won’t allow exchanges or returns.

by:

Works as advertised. We have two different types of Fat Tire Ebikes and both are step thru style. Perfect for putting on and clamping them down on the bike rack for travel. Great accessory.

by:

Works perfectly.

by:

Returned this item because it
Turned
out I didn’t need it for our Lecteic step thru bikes.

by:

These fit perfectly on our Lectric eBikes and helped ensure they are secure to our swagman eBike approved bike rack.

by:

I've needed this bar adapter for my trek ebike "step-through" for my particular bike rack which hooks onto the bikes. It has worked just fine in providing a way for the bike to be secured onto the rack.

by:

I would advise anyone if they are considering ordering anything from etrailer to make sure it's what you want because if you have to return it you have to pay for shipping and what is left you will be waiting for a long time before you get it back! be careful!

by:

A must have to haul step through bikes

by:

Works great with the Swagman E-Spec Bike Rack and the step through Letric bike.

by:

Been using it quite a bit and am happy with the e bike rack. Very well built and functional.

by:

This bar is quick and easy to use. It has flexibility to fit any bike and is plenty strong. It allows us to attach our step through bikes to our rack. Very happy with the purchase.

by:

I used it once to transport my wife’s bike in for service and it chipped the paint on the bars of the bike. Need some sort of rubber protectors at each end to protect the bike.

by:

Seems to be too long for my Heybike cityscape but we seem to have it secured to the rack.

by:

I bought this item but found something more suitable for my specific application. Called to return and Nicole was great. No hassle return. Will continue to shop with etrailer in the future.

by:

This is a great all around product that allows almost any bike to adapt to the bike rack.

by:

just as advertised. works great on my lectric xpremium. thanks for the great service.

by:

you guys did a geeat job in sending this to us. Also, the piece came in great condition.

by:

The bar was easy to install and worked exactly as it was designed. Our bikes will be quite stable on our bike rack.

by:

Speed and service excellent. Box came a bit banged up but no damage to item so very happy with etrailer.

by:

This is a better bar than the cheap one I bought prior to this purchase, but this bar has poor figment and the jury is out on how long it will last.

by:

Good design, decent quality. Very satis fied

by:

Works well

by:

I placed the order and then it was quiet. I called and was told Aug but someone checked and found me a piece for the rack and I am all set. A call or e-mail would have been helpful.

by:

Good quality and heavy duty allowing us to load two E-bikes.

  • Should Bike Adapter Bar Be Used for Yakima OnRamp and Aventon Level E-Bikes
Thank you for your purchase of the Yakima OnRamp Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes # Y36FR! Yes, if you don't like how the clamps of the OnRamp connect to your Aventon Level e-bikes then you'll want to use the Swagman Bike Frame Adapter Bar # S57FR for an easier connection that is a little more centered over the frame. If the Yakima clamp won't fit over the top tube of your standard frame bike then this adapter bar would come in handy as a better point to secure the bike as well. Attached...

  • Recommended Bike Rack For Carrying 2 e-Bikes On The Back Of A Travel Trailer
The Yakima OnRamp Bike Rack # Y36FR will be an excellent rack for carrying your e-Bikes on the back of your travel trailer. This rack is rated for use with standard vehicles, travel trailers, motor homes, flat towed vehicles, and 5th wheels, so it is highly versatile, but I do need to mention that using it on anything other than a standard vehicle will have the weight limit per bike reduced to 40 pounds. With the way that it clamps to a bike though, you will need an adapter bar for your...

  • Recommended Bike Frame Adapter Bar for Swagman Current and Trek Verve 2 Lowstep
To pair with the Swagman Current # S64678 I recommend using the SportRack Bike Frame Adapter Bar for Women's and Alternative Frame Bikes # SR0500, which will fit well on your Trek Verve 2 Lowstep. These are meant to work as universal parts though, so really any adapter bar would work, no matter who the manufacturer is. I've linked a short review video that shows how this is installed.

  • What Bike Rack Will Work with My 75-Pound E-Bike on a 2012 Toyota FJ Cruiser with a Spare Tire?
For a bike with that weighs 75 pounds, the only hitch-mounted bike rack that can hold that weight is the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes - 2" Hitches - Frame Mount # HLY84FR. If you have a compatible hitch attached to your 2012 Toyota FJ Cruiser like the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75461 or the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13367, the measurement from the pinhole of your hitch receiver to the end of your spare tire is 6 inches - 8-1/2 inches. • Recommended Bike Rack For Two Lectric E-Bikes On A Flat Towed 2015 Honda CR-V
When it comes to the weight of the e-bikes most racks will not allow you keep the bikes on and tilt the rack down. To be able to properly support your Lectric bikes on your flat towed CR-V, and still stay in your price range, the Swagman E-Spec Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes # S94FR is going to be the best option. It has a 70lb per bike capacity so there's plenty of extra capacity if you added on any other accessories. That being said, you should never travel with the battery installed...

  • Can I Use the Thule EasyFold XT to Transport a 73-Pound Ebike and a 71-Pound Ebike with Batteries?
I have a solution for you. Since the maximum per-bike weight capacity of the Thule EasyFold XT # TH90320 is 65 pounds, removing the batteries on your bikes would only work if the batteries decreased the first bike's weight by 8 pounds and the second bike by 6 pounds. If you wish to go with the EasyFold XT, I recommend weighing the batteries in order to see if removing them will get you at (or under) the 65 pound weight capacity. Here at etrailer, we always recommend transporting e-bikes...

For a bike rack that fits your 2-inch trailer hitch on your 2021 Acura RDX that fits your 2 Electra Path 9D bikes, I recommend the Swagman Trailhead 2 Bike Rack for 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Tilting # S63360. The Trailhead has a 35 pound per-bike weight capacity and will allow you to tilt the rack (with bikes unloaded) to gain better access to your vehicle's rear hatch. Since this rack does not come with any locks you may want to also add the Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock and Cable for Swagman Bike...

It's difficult to give an exact time, and "quickly" can be pretty subjective in regards to putting on or removing the Saris rack you asked about: - Sairs Bones EX 3-Bike Rack - Trunk Mount # SA803 The first time you install it is going to be quite a bit longer, maybe 10-15 minutes or so. But once you get used to exactly what you have to do to install it on your 2020 Volkswagen Jetta, it will take very little time, maybe a few minutes or less as you'll know precisely where the straps go,...

  • Recommended Bike Rack For Hauling 2 Electric Fat Bikes On A Travel Trailer Or Motorhome
The Swagman E-Spec Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes - 2" Hitches - Frame Mount # S94FR is definitely the bike rack I recommend for you. It is compatible with travel trailers since it is built to withstand the excess bouncing that occurs on the back of a travel trailer or motorhome. • Do You Have a Recommended 1-1/4 Inch Bike Rack for a Travel Trailer?
I think I have the answer. I confirmed with Lets Go Aero that the Bikewing 2 B01311 should not be used on a travel trailer. We do not recommend using 1-1/4 inch receivers on travel trailers because a 1-1/4 inch bike rack/hitch combination is not very secure on a travel trailer shank with the added torque experienced at the end of a trailer during travel (especially with added bike weight). However, there are many 2-inch hitch/bike rack combinations that are guaranteed to get the job done...

For your two Trek Verve+ e-bikes, I recommend the Swagman E-Spec Bike Rack item # S94FR and the Swagman Bike Frame Adapter Bar item # S57FR if yours is a step through style. • Adapters Needed To Mount Specialized Como 4.0 Step-Thru Frame Bikes To The Swagman E-Spec Bike Rack
To use the Swagman E-Spec Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes # S94FR that you were looking at with your Specialized Como 4.0 step-thru frame e-bikes you'll just need to pick up a couple of frame adapter bars # S57FR. These will attach to the seat post and handle bar post and give the ratcheting hook of the bike rack something to grip onto. The rack has a 70lb per bike capacity and is 60lbs so with your 55lb bikes you'd be at roughly 170lbs of your 250lb capacity.

It is a frame-mount so you don't have to worry about fenders or baskets interfering with anything. Your 5" tires will not be a problem either. It comes with an anti-rattle hitch pin to reduce movement between the hitch receiver and the bike rack.
