We were happy to find this kit for our horse trailer. We did have to get that one little part welded. Would be nice if they could come up with a way to bolt it on instead of welding. Also it had to go on the same side as the spare tire. So tire is laying against the cover with a little presure on it. Husband did a good job putting it on. Does work good. Glad to have it.
Once I figured out that the motor had to fit on the left side of the jack. Had to cut out a hole in the trailer with cutting torch. .
Works good, though they should really figure out how to make the kit a bolt on. Be careful when removing the planetary gear, it is not a self contained unit and it's easy for the whole thing to come apart in your hands. Install time was about 2 hours on the mechanical side, and then about an hour welding (this included the cross bar to the slave jack) Will be putting this on all my bull dog jacks
The service from etrailer was terrific. so nice to be able to just ring and get a person that wants to help. The Bulldog Powered Drive kit is just about totally complete. Just a couple of bits that you need to source yourself as you might or might not need them. And the jacks work beautifully. They are obviously high quality and no shortcuts.
I put this kit on a 2016 Sundowner Sante Fe 3 horse LQ trailer. The jack on the trailer wasn't a Bull Dog, it was a Ram 12,000 but the process was similar. I had to drill the hole up in the electric jack shaft from .25" to about .274" in order to use the Ram jack's pin. The other change in install required was that this wouldn't fit behind the spare tire so I had to reverse it on the jack to mount above the battery box and under the propane tank rack. When reversing the install you need to reverse the parts in the jack itself and then I connected the two motor wires up reversed in the junction box so when you press the button for the jack to go down it goes down. You will need two 5/16 bolts to mount the junction box and four screws to mount the switch box. Figure to source wire and terminals to run from the switch box to your battery, I used 12ga wire.
The bulldog electronic jack works great and would recommend it.
We installed the on our shadow 81/2 ft living quarter trailer.

Yes, it works. I was warmed it was slow before I purchased it. For $600, I was hoping for a little better performance. If you could take your finger off of the momentary Up/Down rocker switch, it might be less aggravating. It is similar to watching paint dry! I have had hydraulic ones and I expected it to be of a similar speed, it's not, it is way slower. Not going to be recommending it, Sorry. I have thought about seeing if the manufacturer would recommend the little motor being powered by 24 volts and increase it's RPMs to speed up the process.
The unit has operated just as we expected. I am very satisfied with the device. The entire kit worked as advertised.
