Question:
I also need to replace the nut and screw as well, so what part number would you recommend? If one isn't available what do you recommend for a replacement on my Trails West Sierra three horse, gooseneck trailer with vehicle weight of around 5,000. Is electric a possibility?

I spoke to my contact at Bulldog who said that the Model 12, 180 Series Bulldog jack that you have is the older version of the the current 10K jacks like part # BD182500. Since you have the older version without the spring that you mentioned seeing in other videos it means that pin you are trying to remove has knurls on it. When it was first installed that pin hole was smooth and the knurls on the pin basically "carved" into that pin hole.
To remove it you need to use a punch and quite a bit of elbow grease. My contact said if you can't get it out on one side then rotate the handle and try pushing it out the other way as it will be easier to remove one way because you won't be driving the knurls further into the shaft for the handle.
Once removed you can use the Replacement Gear Kit # BD500212 if it is the gears that you are needing to service. My contact said that there will be some slight modification to the shaft as the pin that comes with this kit is slightly larger yours but there is a bulletin in the instructions that will walk you through this process.
