Timbren Suspension Enhancement vs Weight Distribution System for Towing a Trailer

Updated 11/18/2014 | Published 11/17/2014

Question:

I have purchases many times over the years from you all always with great results, but I now have a question...I have a 07 Nissan Armada 4wd and I tow cars on a trailer with it. I use a weight distibution kit and a hidden hitch round bar rate 600/6000 and works well but the WD is a pain to use so if I dont have sway problems would the timbren essentially do the same thing as the WD system by keeping the proper ride height and weight on the axles? My truck is rated for 9k tow capacity with a WD so could I just is the timbren 1k weight support a forged receiver and the same hidden hitch? Thanks,

You would want to stick with the weight distribution system. Suspension enhancements like the part # TNRARM that you referenced are better suited for heavy cargo in the rear of a vehicle. They aren't ideal for towing a trailer like a WD system since they can act as a fulcrum point and slightly unload the front suspension.

Also, you shouldn't use suspension enhancement with a WD system since they can work against each other.

I attached FAQ articles for both systems for you to check out to the right as well.
