Proper Mounting Flange Orientation for the B&W Heavy-Duty Trailer Hitch Receiver # BWHDRH25230
Updated 10/20/2014 | Published 10/19/2014 >
Question:
Im looking to purchase hitch # 25230 fitting a 2010 F350 assembled truck not cab and chassis but I have a question pertaining to the hitch assembly shown. Does the mounting ears point outward or do they point inwards as indicated in the mounting instructions? If they point outwards as shown then my spare tire might not go back into place after bolting everything together. If they point inward then that gives me an extra four inches of side clearance between the side plates.

The correct orientation for the mounting flanges for the B&W Heavy-Duty Trailer Hitch Receiver # BWHDRH25230 that you referenced is what the installation instructions show. They should point in and not out.
I attached a picture that I took from the installation instructions, that are also attached to the right, that shows how the flanges should be orientated.
