B&W Slider Companion Hitch is Getting Hard to Slide Should the Slider Be Lubricated

Question:

Is it necessary or recommended to lubricate the rails on the Companion Slider? It seems to be getting more difficult to slide.

I spoke with my contact at B&W about the slider version of the Companion hitch, # BWRVK3400-5W. She said that generally you would not lubricate the hitch where is slides. But you can use some spray lubricant such as PB Blaster if you wanted. The issue is that lubricant will attract dirt and debris and that can cause the mechanisms to not work smoothly.
