Question:

I am considering an upgrade from the current 15inch rim and tire combination on my car trailer to a 16inch set up. Will a 235/85 R16 tire fit on a 6inch rim or does it need to be wider?

Expert Reply:

I checked with our resident tire and wheel expert, who tells me that a 235/85-16 tire can indeed be successfully used on a 6 inch wide rim. I wouldn't recommend going any narrower than that, though.
