Replacement Installation Hardware Recommendation for a First Generation Thule Evolution Cargo Box
Updated 08/05/2014 | Published 08/03/2014 >
Question:
I have an original first generation Thule evolution 1800 model 673 cargo box that has the carriage bolts and hardware like the TH 04997 QM3 hardware kit for mounting to the cross bars of my luggage rack. I would like to switch to the TH 05820 easy snap mounting kit but I dont know how the easy snap unit would attach to the inside of the box. Will the unit sit into the holes that are in the box? How will it stay in place? I use it on several vehicles and sometimes use it with the thule load bars so I would like to be able to adjust the location of the brackets within the cargo box. Any information or photos would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your reply.

I spoke to my contact at Thule about this and found that since you have the older generation Thule Evolution cargo box you would need to get the Replacement QM3 # TH04997 if you need replacement hardware.
You could only go with the EasySnap setup on an Evolution box if it is the second generation of Evolution.
