These soft foam pads makes it easy to safely transport 1 surfboard or 1 large SUP on your roof rack crossbars. Pads wrap firmly around crossbars and secure with hook and loop fasteners.

Speaker 1: Today we're going to be taking a look at the Malone standard crossbar pads. The foam padding wraps around your roof rack crossbars and protects boards and boats from damage. These pads provide a simple way to carry surf boards, stand up paddle boards, and other gear on the roof of your vehicle. The padding inside the material is made with a high grade EVA foam core and the material around the actual foam is a water resistant nylon sleeve. Now these are designed to fit round, square, and factory oval crossbars. It's a tool free installation.
You undo this strap right here. The pads open up, see that slit right there You fit it around your crossbar, secure it with the Velcro closure and then you have the shock cords on the ends. That also help at better security. These are going to measure 30 inches long by about 4 inches wide and both pads are included with this part number. That's going to do it for today's look at the Malone standard crossbar pads..

they do not fit the OEM crossbars on my 2007 Nissan Xterra. I’m not returning them because I figured out a way to make them stay on with bungee ties.
Holding up well after one year. They could use more straps to keep them secure. Or just use some zip ties on each end.
Love the length - they cover most of the cross bars. They provide a very cushiony ride for my boards. The downside is that they don't stay put. I had to tape them into place. But it works.
Easy to put on and remove, fit different diameter roof rack cross beams.
I used these parts as part of a package to convert a small boat trailer to an SUP trailer, to avoid having to fill our boards at the lake and it turned out great.
I fit these on 2” square bars. They have a snug fit and grab the bars well. They come down about 1” on each side. They are what I call “old” school pads with Velcro in the middle and ties at the ends. They work well for my needs. I substituted plastic zip ties for the string with clip for a more permanent hold at the ends. I ordered the longest pads available to me and was looking for 34” , but could not find them.
These pads are a perfect addition to our kayak and water-toy towing capabilities. They have a canvas like cover and fit the crossbars perfectly. The foam core is higher quality than the pool noodles we were going to use. E-Trailer offered them at the best price with many choices for shipping. We received them within a week of ordering and put them right to work.
These pads are for very small round bars. I had gotten them because some of the reviews said they would work for 1.5” round bars, but they won’t unless you only want 2/3 of your bar covered. As soon as you load a sup they would rotate and have to be fixed every time. I’ll just get some pipe insulation and have the wifey sew them up in some waterproof canvas.
Would be decent pads for smaller bars, but probably still not worth the price.
Seem well-made but they weren't wide enough for my Erickson ladder rack. Check the circumference of your crossbars before ordering. The width of these pads are 5.5 inches. Circumference of my bars was 8.5 inches.

These are made for roof rack crossbars. Not necessarily for the ladder racks.
They look like they are well made . I am using them on basic Yakima aero cross bars and they barely fit/work . Having to use extra velcro straps to hold them in place
Would not fit Yakima core bars, so not universal fit.

Yeah, that doesn't look like it fits the Yakima crossbars that you have. Let me get a return started for you. You may want to try part # Y07418, this is from Yakima and is stated as a universal fit for Yakima Crossbars.

I checked and we do have slightly longer pads that are 33.5 inches long, part # RRRWP05.
