These pads let you safely transport a kayak, stand-up paddleboard (SUP), ladder, or similarly sized gear on your aero-style crossbars. Pads wrap around crossbars and secure with Velcro closures. Anti-slip vinyl material keeps gear in place.

Speaker 1: Today we're going to be taking a look at the Yakima pads for the aero style crossbars. This is going to be 20" long, part #Y07412. These also come in 30" long as Y07413.The Yakima pads for aero bars are a simple solution for carrying your standup paddle boards, your surf boards, your canoes or your kayaks on the roof of your vehicle to your destination. While these pads come in a quantity of two, they do not come with the tie downs necessary to secure your loads so you will have to find those in etrailer.com. Yakima offers a wide variety of straps to do this.The foam padding is gonna help protect your standup paddle boards or boats from scratches or abrasions once it's being installed. The 20" length for our pads is perfect to fit most standup paddle boards and kayaks.
The anti-slip material at the top will also keep your gear in place while you install it as well and when you strap it down. This is easily less than a five minute install thanks to the hook and loop straps that wrap around your roof rack system. This'll fit around the core bar or JetStream Yakima crossbars as well as most factory roof racks or most other aerodynamic style crossbars. The pads measure 20" long by 3" wide by 2" tall.When comparing this with other roof pads, one that comes up is gonna be the Swagman Vapor Surf and Standup Paddle Board pad for Aero Crossbars, part #S65160. The biggest difference between these two is that with the Swagman, it is primarily designed to work with both surfboards and standup paddle boards, not kayaks or canoes.Now that we've gone over some of the features of the pads, let's go ahead and show you how they work.
You first want to open up all the hook and loop straps on the bottom here so we can wrap it around our bar. So we set this on our bar, make sure the thing setting over it. Then we'll go underneath and connect up our hook and loop straps. Make sure we go as tight as possible so we don't get it moving around as much. And we'll repeat this for our other pad as well.Next we can put our standup paddle board in place.
Make sure it's even on both sides then you can take whatever tie down straps that you may have and secure it to your roof. Alright, we are now ready to hit the road and show you how it looks and there you have it for the Yakima pads for the Aero style crossbars, part #Y07412.

Poor shipping ordered on July 12th and haven’t received anything until August 14th. I only had one option for shipping which was UPS and after 2 weeks it got handed off to USPS and sat somewhere in San Francisco before making its way to Hawaii. Late gift.

Great pad to keep kayaks and SUPs from shifting around on Yakima aero bars. I've had a pair on 1 side of my bars for a few years now and they've always worked great carrying 1 kayak. Now I take 2 kayaks and the 2nd one shifted after a short drive with the straps secured. Not a good feeling, so now my 60" bars are fully padded and the boats stay tightly in place.
Bought these crossbar pads for my 2020 Lexus RX350 F-Sport. They fit great on the stock Lexus crossbars and protect the bars from scratches and damage when carrying paddle boards and kayaks. Would definitely recommend this for anyone needing secure padding for wider crossbars.

The Yakima crossbar pads are incredible. Excellent quality and great protection for my crossbars. Now I can use my RAV4 to bring lumber home, and carry other items, like canoes, kayaks, etc.

I purchased these for my Thule Aero bars and they are perfect. I needed to protect the cherry gunwales of my canoe during long road trips The pieces of foam pipe insulation I was using were definitely not up to the task and kept blowing off! The velcro attachments on these puppies are bombproof.

These pads are great. Used to cushion my Hornbeck canoe. Leaves room for kayak rack too. Very secure. Glad I got them!

I was skeptical that these pads would fit my HD bars. They fit and work great. Also, kudos to etrailer as this question was posed and researched in the q/a section. Pads seem well built. Fabric and velcro seem like it will last. Highly recommended.
