Updated 10/14/2026 | Published 10/12/2026 >
Question:
I ordered etrailer replacement power cord for my nighthawk tow bar. I noticed that your cord has only two wires for the led lights , I have four wires for the led lights. Will it still work or do I have to return it and order the Roadmaster power cord ?

Hi Rick!
I'm surprised the wires for your LEDs are not tied together. That is why the Replacement 7-Way to 6-Way Coiled-to-Straight Cord for Roadmaster Nighthawk Tow Bar - 8' Long # RM-1676-7R only has 2 wires. But fear not.
The lights on your tow bars should have the same color wires and you will just need to tie them together before hooking them to the replacement cord (red to red and black to black). You will have one wire going into one side of each butt connector from the new cord and 2 wires coming out the other side of the butt connectors going to the LED lights. I made a crude diagram showing what I mean by that. I'm no artist, so don't judge it too hard, but it should make clear what I am trying to say.
What vehicle are you using your towbar with?
