Looking to purchase a braking system for road vehicle I drive a 2029 Chevy 3500 diesel dually with a Lance Truckcamper 1172 Toad vehicle is 2011 Jeep wrangler I have the blu oak system and dont like the set up Looking at the Demco system. Will the Demco system work while using an exhaust brake in the mountains. U have heard diesel exhaust brakes while using dont work with this system

Hi Tracy! Yes, you can use the Demco Stay-IN-Play DUO # SM99251 on your 2011 Jeep Wrangler while using the exhaust brake on your Chevy 3500. The DUO requires both a brake light signal from the truck, and enough deceleration to activate the Jeep's brakes.
If the exhaust brake on your Chevy activates the brake lights, Demco notes that you may need to adjust the G-Force controller slightly toward the less-sensitive setting when traveling down steep grades. This will keep the exhaust brake from unnecessarily activating the brakes on your Wrangler.
I think you'll be a lot happier with the Stay-IN-Play Duo, and you won't have to set it up each time you tow. If you want the version with the wireless monitor the # DM86VR is also available.

The demco unit work off of brake switch signal. You hit the brake pedal, the demco unit hits the brakes. Unless there is a switch signal going out from the truck during the exhaust brake cycle ( traditionally no) then the demco unit will not apply brakes. I hope this helps.

Hi Tracy. We have towed a Honda CRV over15k miles using the Demco braking system you are interested in. After adjusting the sensitivity a couple of times on the first trip I haven't touched it. After getting a couple of quotes from local RV shops around $900 I did the installation of the brake system, the tow plate and the lighting wiring myself. I think I called eTrailer tech support once or twice to be sure I understood the comprehensive instructions. Cheers, Bob
