Recommended Flat Towing Parts for a 2025 Ford Bronco w/ Factory Tow Hooks

Updated 08/10/2026 | Published 08/05/2026

Question:

I live and Alaska and currently have a 2020 Ford F350 dually a Torklift Magnum hitch along with a Torklift 48 inch extension. We recently purchased a 2025 Ford Bronco Heritage. I want to tow the Bronco behind my truck while carrying my 2021 Northern Lite truck camper. I do believe that I want to use a portable braking system. I would also like to maintain the broncos front tow hooks, if possible. Can you help me narrow everything down? I would also be available this fall or early spring. Thank you for your time. Please feel free to call if you would like.

I sure can Jim and congrats on your new Bronco! Thanks for all the information btw. I have all the parts you'll need to retain your front tow hooks and I do agree a portable braking system is the way to go for your F-350 setup.

Here are the parts I recommend using to flat tow your 2025 Ford Bronco Heritage:

Tow Bar and Safety Cables - Curt Rambler Non-Binding Tow Bar item # C25DQ

Base Plate Kit - Curt Custom Base Plate Kit item # C59JR - These will attach to your Bronco's front recovery hooks and only work with the Curt Rambler Non-Binding Tow Bar item # C25DQ. There is no adapter or way to use this baseplate with another manufacturer, including Roadmaster, Blue Ox, or Demco due to how the baseplate attaches to the arms.

Wiring Harness - Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit item # RM38FR. This diode kit will splice into your tail light wiring to display the signals from your F-350 through the tail lights of your Bronco.

Charge Line Kit - Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit item # RM-156-25 - This will keep your battery from dying on your trips, as the portable breaking system draws power from it. It'll ensure you never show up to your destination with a dead battery.

Supplemental Braking System - Blue Ox Patriot Portable Flat Tow Brake System item # BLU37TR - This will plug into the 12V auxiliary power socket or cigarette lighter port. It also includes an in cab monitor you can use to see the settings and performance of the braking system from your F-350.

If you don't already have one, I recommend adding the TorkLift Wiring Harness Extension item # TLW6048. It's essentially an extension cord for the 7-way connector that is designed specifically for the 48" TorkLift SuperTruss Hitch Extension item # TLE1548.

Where are you planning on traveling once you get your Bronco setup to be flat towed? We always hear about people traveling to Alaska, so I will say this is the first time I've gotten a request from someone who lives up there. Feel free to answer this and throw in any other questions you have, where it says Add Comment.

I have the Curt rambler tow bar with the C59jr kit and use it for our Bronco Badlands Sasquatch. The kit works with the “modular” bumper tow hooks like the pictures above. Most heritage edition Broncos come with the “capable” bumper with ring style tow hooks which I don’t believe will work.

@GregW Thanks Greg! I'm getting ready to fix all that. Looks like my Heritage package information is wrong on the wiring too.

Thank you Jerred for responding. I guess I need to let you know that I have factory installed recovery shackles, and not the hooks or loops. I would still like to retain those. I also checked and for some reason my tail lights are incandescent. I think RM26FR would be the correct diode kit for me. I already have a 48 inch Torklift extender along with4 foot 7 pin extension. What would be an option to maintain the shackles. I do have the Heritage Edition 2025 Bronco with Sasquatch package. I can send pictures or feel free to call me if needed. Thank you for your time and assistance

@JimF You're welcome and thank you! My information had the Heritage coming with the Ford Modular bumper and LED tail lights. Apologies for the confusion. Unfortunately, there's no baseplates that'll allow you to keep the shackles/front tow hooks on the Capable front bumper. They install in the same location. With that being said, the Curt Custom Base Plate Kit item # C83ZV is going to be the correct one. I linked the installation instructions below if you'd like to take a look at them. The steps addressing the Capable Front Bumper start on page 8. You are correct, for variable voltage incandescent tail lights you'll need the Roadmaster item # RM26FR.
