Features to know about

Quick Hookup Without Clumsy Hardware

curt seeker quick hookup

Some tow bars make you hold everything in place while lining up levers or wrestling with stiff latch arms, which turns a simple task into a balancing act. The Seeker uses an auto-latching system that locks onto the base plate tabs on contact. Once it's in position, you just slide in the pins to secure the connection. There's no fumbling in the driveway while you're trying to leave and no asking someone to hold the arms while you lock things down. It's just a fast, secure connection that lets you get on the road.

Less Wear and More Peace of Mind

curt seeker three lug shackle

The Seeker's three-lug shackle ends help spread out the load and reduce stress on your base plate tabs. That small change adds up over time when you're towing often or logging long miles. It adds up to fewer alignment issues, less play in the connection, and a setup that still feels tight after a full season on the road.

Sealed Arms Stay Functional in Dust, Rain, and Road Grime

curt seeker strong construction

Dust and grit can work their way into tow bar arms, especially after miles and miles across country or trips down gravel roads. When that happens, they start sticking or stop retracting altogether. This tow bar solves the issue with fully sealed arms and rubber sleeves that help keep debris out of the mechanism. That protection keeps the arms moving freely, even after heavy use.

No-Stick Release in Rough Conditions

curt seeker release

Disconnecting on uneven ground is one of the most common headaches in flat towing. Sloped campsites, soft shoulders, and angled driveways can put tension on the arms and cause standard latches to seize. The Seeker's latch system is designed to release without straining, even when the setup isn't ideal. You won't be stuck prying it loose or jerking the vehicle just to disconnect.

Flexible Storage That Matches Your RV Setup

curt seeker storage

After you disconnect, you're still not done. If the arms don't stow cleanly, they can rattle or get in the way when you're trying to pull out. This tow bar gives you more control with three ways to position the arms, so they stay put and out of your path. You can fold the arms to the left, to the right, or out to the sides. You'll be fitting your setup, not squeezing around it in a tight campground or brushing past it every time you open the hatch.

Simple Tow Bar Installation

This tow bar connects directly to a standard 2" hitch receiver and is compatible with Curt and Blue Ox base plates (sold separately). If you still need to install the base plate and would rather not do it yourself, we can help you find a trusted installer to handle the job.

See what our Experts say about this CURT Tow Bar

  • Can There Be Height Difference Between RV Hitch And Toad For Curt Seeker Tow Bar?
Yes, Greg, and I’m glad you asked. For the Seeker tow bar # C32HB, Curt specifies no more than a 3-inch height difference between the RV’s hitch receiver and the base plate tabs. If you’re outside that range, you’ll need a high-low adapter like # C26FV to level things out. Running unlevel can stress the arms and wear them out prematurely. Do you know the receiver height on your Class A? I can help you pick the right adapter.

  • Can Curt Seeker Tow Bar Be Used With Roadmaster Crossbar Style Base Plates On 09 Mustang?
Yes, Susan. This Curt Seeker tow bar # C32HB is designed to be directly compatible with both Curt and Blue Ox base plates, but can also be used with Roadmaster crossbar base plates like # 4404-1 when using adapter # RM-033. Just bolt it up and pin it to the tow bar. That makes it a nice option if you’re already running Roadmaster hardware and prefer Curt’s new tow bar with the auto latch system. I think you'll love it! Do you also flat tow any other vehicles, or is the mustang your main toad?

  • Can I Back Up With The Curt Seeker 10k Tow Bar Connected?
Sheila, unfortunately not. Like all tow bars, the 10k rated Curt Seeker # C32HB can’t handle backing up. Even a short attempt can bind the arms and damage the bar or your base plates. If you need to reposition, the safest move is to disconnect the toad first. We have seen damaged arms over the years from this exact scenario, so be mindful! What kind of places are you typically camping at - big RV parks or tighter forest service roads?

  • How Does Curt Seeker Tow Bar Compare To Older Curt Rambler Tow Bar?
Good question, Kelly. The Rambler # C26FR is a lighter-duty bar rated for 7,500 lbs. The Curt Seeker # C32HB ups that to 10,000 lbs and adds sealed arms with rubber sleeves, so grit and road dust won’t jam up the auto locking mechanism (Rambler has a manual level/latch, not auto latching). You also get the three-lug shackle ends, which spread the load and reduce wear on the base plate tabs. Think of it as Curt’s heavy-duty upgrade for frequent towers. How heavy is your current towed setup?

  • Will Curt Seeker Tow Bar Still Bind On Uneven Ground Like Old Tow Bar?
Travis, you nailed the most frustrating part of flat towing. The Seeker’s # C32HB non-binding latch design is built exactly for this problem. Even if you’re on a slope, shoulder, or gravel lot, the arms release without wrestling them loose. No more rocking the Jeep back and forth just to disconnect. Have you already got base plates installed on your Wrangler? I can point you toward the Curt and Blue Ox fits.

  • Will Curt Seeker Tow Bar 10k Work With 2022 Chevy Silverado 2500HD Behind Class A RV?
Roger, the Seeker # C32HB has a 10,000-lb weight rating, so your 2500HD is within range if it’s under that threshold. Just double-check your truck’s weight to make sure when fully loaded it's still under 10k lbs. Everything I'm seeing online says you should be fine since the curb weight unloaded is usually around 6-7k lbs plus cargo. You'll really like the non-binding and auto latching features on this bar; definitely an upgrade if you've ever used one without those features. Tow bars...

  • How Does Stowing Feature Work On Curt Seeker Tow Bar?
Mark, that’s another strong point of the Seeker # C32HB. It lets you fold the arms in three ways: both to the driver’s side, both to the passenger side, or one each way. That flexibility makes it easier to keep the arms tucked out of the way, depending on your RV layout. Do you usually leave your tow bar mounted full-time, or do you prefer to pull it off between trips?

  • Does Curt Seeker Tow Bar Come With Everything Needed To Flat Tow A Car?
Daniel, the 10k rated tow bar kit # C32HB from Curt includes the bar itself, safety cables, and the hitch pin/clip. To complete your flat tow setup, you’ll still need base plates, a supplemental braking system, and a wiring kit for your toad’s lights. Think of the Seeker as the backbone or main component of the system. Do you want me to help you put together a full parts list for your specific vehicle?

  • Does Curt Seeker Tow Bar Require Yearly Maintenance To Keep It Nice?
Doug, the Seeker tow bar # C32HB is sealed pretty well, but Curt does recommend some upkeep (as does every tow bar manufacturer). After each trip, wash it with warm soapy water and let it dry. Every 1,000 miles, check torque on the fasteners and hit the inner rods with a light coating of grease. The rubber bellows keep grit out, but if they ever crack, replace them right away. With your mileage, staying on top of that will give you years of solid use. Just remember that maintenance is key...

  • Does Curt Seeker Non-Binding Tow Bar Come With Safety Cables?
Annette, the Seeker # C32HB includes a pair of 7-foot safety cables right in the box. They’re designed to cross underneath the tow bar and hook into your RV and base plate attachment points. If you need longer cables for a wide-track RV, we can set you up with those too. Or if you lost them you can use something like # BX88196. Do you already have your lighting cable sorted, or would you like options there as well?
