Looking For Trailer Jack Where Foot Can Be Swapped Out For Caster Wheel

Updated 08/06/2026 | Published 07/29/2026

Question:

Howdy - we build a heavy duty trailer for hauling our 85 and 125 gallon fire skids at QTAC Fire in northern California. The trailer has a GVWR of 2000 pounds and an estimated 200 tongue weight. We currently purchase your DL22686 and the MJ-1206B which have two different mounting options and we are looking to go a straight weld on for both, as we need a wheel and foot option. Ideally, we prefer the install, color and quality of the DL22686 - is there either a sister part that is the same color, install method, weight spec but has a wheel? Or is there a black 2000 pound swivel jack, with weld on 2-1/4inch snap ring, that can accept a foot and a wheel? Maybe it comes with the wheel and you can replace the foot. Open to ideas!

Hey Scott, thanks for reaching out. I like where you're headed, but unfortunately, we don't have a jack that checks every one of those boxes. The Dutton-Lainson # DL22686 is unique because of its black finish and weld-on design, but it isn't designed to accept a caster wheel. On the flip side, the Bulldog # MJ-1206B only accepts a caster wheel, but it has the clamp-on mount instead of the weld-on collar you're looking for.

The best option I can recommend is the Trailer Valet JXS Drill Powered Swivel Jack # TV64FR. It does have a clamp-on swivel mount, but it comes with a removable foot you can swap out for a wheel, part # TV89FR. The 1,600 lb capacity will be more than enough for your application, plus it is black in color.

At this time, we don't have a snap ring swivel jack with a removable foot. it sounds like the # TV64FR would check the most boxes though.

Will the bolt-on mount work for you?
