Roadmaster Comfort Ride for 2022 Grand Design Imagine XLS 21BHE Upgrading to 3,500 lb Axles

Question:
I have a 2022 grand design 21bhe. Im upgrading to 3500 axles as only half of the 2022 year came with them. My question is my trailer to light for the comforter ride suspension kit. I see the springs are rated to 2500lbs a piece. Will my ride be better or worse from standard suspension?

Hey Andrew! Your trailer is not too light for the Comfort Ride suspension system. The Roadmaster Comfort Ride Leaf Spring Suspension Kit w/ Shock Absorbers # RM82MR is appropriately rated for the 3,500 lb axles you're upgrading to.
This is designed to fit a 2-3/8" diameter axle, which is standard for 3,500 lb axles. The system works differently from your standard leaf spring suspension, and won't be overrated for your 2022 Grand Design Imagine XLS 21BHE. This will give you an independent suspension system for just about the best ride quality you can get.
Where are you headed with your Imagine once you upgrade your suspension?

I installed the comfort ride system on my 2016 Jayco. The difference in towing is amazing. You won’t be disappointed.

I have this kit on my 2023 GD Imagine XLS 17MKE. My trailer is below the rated range, but ai installed them immediately after buying it because I knew I'd be taking my trailer on rough roads. I am so happy with the upgrade. I often take my trailer up mountain roads full of potholes and on old asphalt roads full of frost heaves. I am continually impressed with how well my trailer tows. I highly recommend this kit for anyone with plans for more than interstate driving.
