Replacement Equalizer and Leaf Springs for a 2020 Grand Design Imagine 21BHE

Updated 03/11/2025 | Published 02/18/2025

Question:

I have a 2020 Grand Design Imagine 21BHE camper and I am looking at upgrading the leaf springs as well as the equalizer to the Dexter ez flex. Does Grand Design give you guys the specs on which leaf springs would fit? I know I have 3000lbs axles but my springs look to be flattening out and would like to upgrade to something a little heavier. Thanks

Hey Tyler, thanks for reaching out!

Grand Design actually does have some help in that department, since they have a whole "replacement parts" section on their website.

To upgrade the equalizers on your 2020 Grand Design Imagine 21BHE you need the E-Z Flex Equalizers # K71-655-00, but when it comes to your leaf springs, I'll need you to lift the frame off the ground (so there isn't pressure on the spring) and then measure from center eye to center eye.

Once you have that measurement you can either filter through our linked selection or let me know what you found, and I'll be more than happy to help you find a replacement!

I did just receive the dexter ez flex from E trailer today. The springs are 1500lbs 3 leaf’s at 25 1/4 eye to eye. When I look on the website there are 1500, 1750 and 2500lbs springs in that size that are still cost effective. Would moving up to the 2500lbs 4 leaf springs cause any issues with the 3000lbs axels?

@Tyler I recommend sticking with the 1,500 lb leaf springs as that will give you the best comfort for your trailer suspension. If you really want to upgrade, then I don't recommend going over the 1,750 because anything more than that will really make your trailer ride quality more rigid.
