What Leaf Springs Do I Need for my Travel Trailer

Updated 11/13/2025 | Published 10/16/2025

Question:

Need to replace both travel trailer leaf springs on one side. I cant figure out which leaf spring length i need as it seems like they are longer than original due to flattening out. I measured 26.25 center-to-center eyelets, 1.75 wide. Details: 2021 Grand Design Transcend 261BH Xplor D35 capacity: 3500-lb axles, Dexter, part 4440558 HF=86.50 SC=68.50 Serial 133224637009

Thanks for your question, Bryan!

Sometimes it can be hard to get an exact measurement on the leaf springs. I'm not sure if you jacked up the trailer to let the axle hang when you took your measurement, that would be the ideal method, but it's always better to be shorter than a little longer.

We do have some springs that are rated for 3.5lbs and are 25-1/4" long eye to eye, part # e54SR. There are also 23-1/8" and 27" long but your best bet is to go with the 25-1/5" long springs.

I do also want to mention that what you do to one side of the camper you should also do to the other side. If you don't replace the springs on both sides of the camper it could affect the over all tow of your trailer.

Hey Bryan, how did things go with the 25-1/4" leaf springs for your Transcend trailer? Did the shorter length end up giving you the right fit once the axle was hanging free? Your feedback could really help others trying to match their spring size.
