Good afternoon! Im hoping you can provide recommendations on which systems to get to have my 2026 Chevy Trax Activ equipped to be flat towed ready behind a 2025 Grand Design 25FW.

Hey Jomar! I can definitely recommend a flat tow setup for your 2026 Chevy Trax ACTIV. For a complete setup you will need a base plate kit, tow bar, safety cables, wiring, and a supplemental brake system. I recommend the following:
-Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BLU99HR
-Roadmaster Falcon 3HD Tow Bar for Blue Ox Base Plates # RM67QX
-Roadmaster 80" Hybrid Coiled-to-Straight Safety Cables # RM-674
-etrailer Tow Bar Cover # e76FV (optional)
-Roadmaster Smart Diode Kit for Variable Voltage Incandescent Tail Lights # RM26FR
-Roadmaster Battery Disconnect # RM-766
-Curt RVibrake Shadow 2 # RVI94FR (includes charge line)
The only other thing you may need is a high-low adapter like the # e52ZV. We know the bracket height on the Blue Ox base plate is 15-1/2". Measure from the ground to the center of the receiver on your Grand Design and subtract it from the 15-1/2" measurement to find the rise/drop. I attached a help article further down on this page as well which explains how to measure.

I was very happy with this baseplate for my 2025 trax activ. Since the activ has a different grill I was worried at how much of the grill I would have to cut to make the baseplate fit. It was minimal cutting and I was amazed how well it fits with the baseplate only protruding through two small holes already in the grill. We have been towing with it for about a year now and have not had any issues.
