Are there wiring instructions with this to show direction from vehicle to trailer.

Hey Kelly! The HydraStar GM Controller Adapter Module for Electric Drum Brakes # HYD56ZR should come with basic instructions. This will install in-line with the brake output wire (typically blue) on your trailer. The side marked "in" will be the side come from the vehicle, and the "out" side is the trailer side. It also has little blue tags on it that read "truck" and "trailer" so you can't mess it up.
