When you’re towing a heavy trailer or hauling a full bed of gear, sag and squat can throw your ride out of balance. Firestone Ride-Rite air helper springs add up to 5,000 lbs of load-leveling capacity between the frame and rear suspension. So far they seem to work great just riding around the neighborhood. Haven't had to hook up and tow a trailer or put weight in the bed yet. The only hiccup I had was the one photo without the red hose going to it you can see the bolt would not lineup on the passenger side upper bracket I had to take channel locks and squeeze Tightly to get the bolt through both sides. The bracket just needs bent a little bit from factory. This was for the 2022 ram 2500. Other than that the install was probably 2 hours for myself an hour a piece I would say. Be sure to put a fresh blade on a Utility knife when cutting red plastic air line, I used the factory pre cut sides to put those into the airbags themselves, And put the cut ends that I cut myself into my air fittings in the back that way if there were any leaks which I had one I could easily remove without jacking up the truck,removing tire, etc. and trying to get it off of the airbag
I give you a 5 star rating on the product. But I give you a 2 star rating on the clarity and specificity of the installation instructions that were included with my air bags for my 2024 Ram 2500 Big Horn Truck. I have some suggestions for improving the instructions if someone is interested in contacting me.
The products are good and fairly easy to install. However, the fitting at the top of the airbag has to be perfectly lined up when installed. I had to back up one fitting to get it aligned properly. The fittings and hose are a one time use - push in & it’s locked. I put the entire leveling system together & it leaked at the fitting I had to back up - Maybe an 1/8 of a turn. The way this system is made I had to take this entire side apart and I had to order a new fitting. Once the system was completed it has worked fine and made a difference in towing my fifth trailer. I recommend the manufacturer include a spare fitting.
I haven’t got to tow with the system yet, but the install was easy, w.5 he’s tops. Should do exactly what I got it for!!

easy install bags work great, almost 70K with zero malfunctions
Like the air bags. There was only one problem, the two fill valves were bad. Tried removing and re-cutting the poly tubing twice to make sure they were straight cuts but didn't solve the leaks. Ordered two new ones from and auto supply company and all is good.

Working Great! No leaks.
This was an install on a 2016 Ram 2500. Left side install(drivers side) was a beeeze. (Side note- remove tire and heat shield) Right side install took some trouble shooting. The right side upper bracket and bag bracket did not align when joined together. The bracket welded on by Ram is pretty thick (or at least mine was -along the outside of the frame) so this did not allow the bracket to sit squarely enough to align the holes needed for mounting the two together. Solution- grind down upper tab on bracket on the inside. Also note- if you are using a floor jack in your driveway, lower the truck fairly low, so you can allow for an easier time getting the whole assembly to fit in the allowed space. This will also mean you will need to remove the passenger side tire. By lowering the truck once the tire is off, will allow for the suspension to stretch out creating more room.
I did end up minorly stripping out the bolt used to fasten the bottom of the bracket to the axle. Ended up using a tap and dye to get things straightened back out.
One last tip, in order to tighten the Allen bolt used to to tighten the air bag to the lower bracket, it will not be a 6mm like the frame bracket. The size you need will be a 7/32 Allen wrench. Not your most common size, nowhere in my instructions did I find that information.
Don’t forget to get your air elbow fitting aligned how you want it early on, nothing like getting it wiggled and jiggled into place -to only realize you don’t like the way the elbow fitting is pointed.
No air leaks and no other problems other than some bracket modifying, hope this helps the next guy. Etrailer was out of stock and this order took a month to get. 4 stars for the hassle, the modifying part didn’t bother me at all, seems like it’s gonne be a great product for years to come.
When I received the kit from etrailer one of the mounting brackets was wrong and would not fit my truck. It was going to take Firestone several weeks to get a replacement. I had a trip planned so I ordered a Timbren suspension enhancement kit just to use till I got the part for the mounting.
I love the Timbrens. I would never go to air bags after trying them. For my application they work great.
Excellent service. Product arrived on day promised before 10am ! I was concerned about the clanking noise the package made when it was dropped off. Parts were packed loose in the shipping carton. Air springs were not wrapped to prevent damage from metal brackets. Will have to fill them with air to make sure they were not punctured during shipment.

I just got my airbags today. As usual etrailer comes through with outstanding shipping. I got them in 4 days from the time i placed the order. Looking forward to getting them on and testing them out later this spring once we hook up the camper. Only gave a good rating because they are not on the truck yet. Another satisfied etrailer customer regarding service and quick delivery!!!

Had these on for a year. Working GREAT. One of the best things we put on the truck to haul our camper. Would buy again. Really happy with them.
I had a local shop install the airbag suspension as I am not a young man, it did take the shop 2 1/2 hours to install but they were very impressed by this system and will recommend it to their customers.
I will use it when I tow my 17,000 lb 5th wheel to level the 3,000 lbs of bed weight. I think it’s the perfect setup for my 2021 Ram 2500 short bed 4x4 and the reviews all said it was built better than the competitors product.
I had a problem with the Firestone fitment. I own a 2020 ram 2500 Laramie Longhorn. On my truck the distances from the bump stop mount to the strike plate is 6.25”. The mounting hardware for the firestones is right at 2” and the manual states that the minimum height of the bag is 5.5”. So you need 7.5” clearance which means I would have to raise the rear of my truck by 1.25”. I had my truck leveled by 1.5” which makes it perfect and would be wasted by raiding the rear. Other than that they would have been fine. I don’t know if this situation was specific to my truck but if it’s not Firestone should make this clear to ram owners. Etrailer was willing to take a return, minus freight so I only lost $46 to discover the issue. I think the air ride 5000 will be a better fit.

It did exactly what we wanted. It helped to cushion the ride and added stability when towing. Very happy with the purchase. It did take a few extra tools to get them to fit properly to my Dodge Ram 2500, but I did get it to fit and it works well.

It still works great. The only thing a would add is an automatic inflator switch in the cab with a pump underneath. It does become a little cumbersome to check the pressure all the time when towing.

I installed these yesterday. The driver's side fit perfectly and installed easily. The passenger side had an overbent bracket that prevented installation. I had to grind a flange down about .030" for a proper fit. In the product photo, the flange in question is the one at the upper right. That's why the 4 stars instead of five. Leak tested fine. I have them initially set at 30PSI (out of a possible total of 100PSI). Hitting a parking lot speed bump is very hard. I will be towing over the next two weeks and will no doubt learn what the proper setting should be with our 8,000# 30' TT.
Works great, I put this on my 2018 Power Wagon and it prevents the truck from wobbling at highway speeds when overloaded.

Installation was easy but instructions not really clear, etrailer's video made it a little clearer. I will try them out next week with my 5th wheel. Installed on a 2016 Ram 2500.
This product has been serving me very well thus far. Everything was simple to install and even easier to use. Makes towing my 5th wheel nice and smooth while keeping my truck at optimal ride height. Perfect fit for the 2016 Ram 2500 with rear coils.
You won't be disappointed with these Firestone air bags. Very well designed and a pretty easy install. If I had anything to do over again I would remove the tires to make the install a little easier.
Great bags. But Firestone needs different 5th gen lower brackets.
The carriage bolt was rubbing my hard brake lines. I had to space them out with washers. I ended up installing the Daystar cups and just not using the lower bracket. Personal opinion is it should come with cups instead. All in all the bags are great. Only issue was the rubbing.
