Can I leave the tongue weight scale installed on the trailer jack all the time?

Hey Steve! The tongue weight scale included with the etrailer Manual Sidewind Trailer Jack # e63KV is designed for temporary use before towing. It can remain installed if you're parked at the campsite for a few days, but it should be removed before traveling or long term storage.

Leaving it installed while towing could expose the scale to road debris, impacts, and vibration that may damage the gauge or affect its accuracy. We do include a storage bag to keep it protected so you can throw it in your truck or trailer when not in use.
