I am looking for a class 3 trailer hitch for a 2026 Chevy Equinox RS. I noticed the Curt hitch is approx $90 less than the E trailer hitch? What is the difference in the hitches?

Hi Mike, that's a great question. Functionally, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver, Part # C77FR, and the etrailer hitch part # e59ZR. are the same. They have the same fit, the same towing capacity, and install the same way on your 2026 Chevy Equinox RS. The biggest difference is the finish. The etrailer hitch has a matte black powder coat that does a better job of blending in with the factory trim and hiding scratches over time, while the Curt hitch has a glossy black finish.
If it were my Equinox, I'd go with the Curt hitch and save the money. Curt has an excellent reputation, and you're not giving up any performance or fit compared to the etrailer version. It's a great value and should serve you well for years to come.
Out of curiosity, are you planning to use the hitch mostly for a bike rack, a cargo carrier, or towing a trailer?

Mike, I went with the more expensive one. I am only using it for a bike rack because according to GMC & Chevy they prefer you not to tow with this vehicle so they do not offer a hitch. I also read max towing capacity is 1000-1500lbs max. Good luck
