Do I Need to Trim to Install a Hitch on a 2024/2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV?

Question:

Looks like DT66KV sits much lower than the Curtis. Does the Draw Tite need to have the facia cut out at all? Or does it hang low enough it goes below it?

Hey Kevin! The Draw-Tite Hitch item # DT66KV is going to sit higher than the Curt Hitch item # C89RV when it is installed on the 2024/2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV. The crosstube mounts behind the rear bumper instead of to the bottom of the frame so the receiver is going to stick out just below the trim.

There will need to be some trimming done to get the receiver of the Draw Tite item # DT66KV to stick through the fascia. I have attached a screen shot from the installation instructions below to show you exactly what needs to be trimmed.

The Draw-Tite Hitch item # DT66KV and the Curt Hitch item # C89RV have both been confirmed to fit the 2024 and 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EVs. I have linked the installation instructions below so you can see how to get them set up.

Hi Jerred, Two quick follow-up questions: Which of the two (Curt or Draw-Tite) is easier to install? And which one would work better with a Kuat 2.0 bike rack? I saw a review on another site from someone saying they weren’t able to fold their kuat bike rack up when using it with the Curt, because the hitch sits too close to the car. Which hitch sits closer or farther from the car (Curt or Draw-Tite)? Thanks in advance! CG

@ChrisG The Curt Hitch item # C89RV is going to be a night and day difference easier to install than the Draw-Tite item # DT66KV. You have to take the bumper off to install the Draw-Tite. The Curt installs from beneath your Equinox EV. We haven't had a chance to install either of these hitches on a 2024/2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV so I do not have those measurements. I will say from experience on the standard models of the Equinox the Curt item # C89RV is going to stick out farther to give you more space for your Kuat 2.0 bike rack.
