Question:

Can this camera stay on an act like rear view mirror . my son has a 2024 with 360 view the cargo camera shows an excellent view of the rear. My pick up is a 2018 LT without blind size warning or rearview cargo camera. I would like to use it in this way if possible

Hey Jeff!

No, the Custom Third Brake Light Camera for 8" Factory Monitor - Night Vision # 3460010 will not be able to be used as an always-on rear view mirror. There is not currently an option for your 2018 Chevrolet Silverado LT that ties into the factory display.

Instead, you can switch your factory mirror to a digital mirror like Brandmotion FullVUE Digital Rear View Mirror with Cargo and Backup Cameras - Universal # BM64FR. This mirror connects to two included cameras and gives you a real time view to monitor what's in your bed as well as any trailers or accessories that you're hauling. The mirror isn't able to provide you blind spot warnings, but it does include a built-in dash camera to record the road ahead of you. For the dash camera, you will need a micro SD card for memory storage.

Used the camera for less than a couple weeks. It interfered with the factory tailgate camera clarity. Removed from vehicle and requested a return which was denied since it had been installed. Recommend against purchasing.
