Question:
I purchased the cargo carrier 63153, to attach to my reese hidden trailer hitch receiver for my 2013 Chevy Traverse. I want to know if it is necessary to put safety chains or safety cables for this? Please let me know if so, which you would choose. Thanks in advance.

Safety chains aren't necessary for a hitch mounted accessory like your cargo carrier or for a bike rack, since they are attached directly to the hitch receiver, versus a trailer that couples to a ball mount that attaches to the receiver.
For extra security you could use a locking hitch pin like part # e98882, but a pin and clip like part # PC3 would be just fine, as well.
If the basket or the cargo stored on it would obscure the tailllights on lyour Traverse, an LED light kit # 98174LED is available. If your Traverse doesn't have a trailer connector, you could install one using part # 118270.
