Torque Spec for Nuts On Draw-Tite Hitch for 2010-2019 Subaru Outback
Updated 03/30/2020 | Published 03/28/2020 >
Question:
Hello, I was wondering what thr torque requirement is for the 14mm bolts that hold the hitch and crossbar together should be. The instructions say all 10mm bolts should be 42 ft/lb. Is that a typo and should have been 14mm? Thanks!

The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 76227 which is a fit for a 2010-2019 Subaru Outback will install via eight total 10mm nuts which are actually reused as they are the factory fasteners for the bumper beam. The most up to date torque specs for these nuts can be found in the online version of the instruction manual which is attached to the product page.
There are no 14mm bolts but rather a 14mm socket used for the 10mm nuts which I think is where the confusion lies.
