Will DeeMaxx Disc Brake Kit Fit 2012 Alpine 3450RL

Updated 06/28/2026 | Published 06/23/2026

Question:

Good Afternoon. Will the DE66AR disc brake conversion kit be the correct kit for a 2012 Alpine 3450RL? Also, I have an older Tekonsha Voyager XP brake controller. The controller is at least 21 years old, but still works with the OEM electromagnetic brakes on the Alpine. May be time for an upgrade there also? Thanks!

Hey Jim! It looks like your 2012 Alpine 3450RL has 7k axles but I do recommend verifying this to be sure. Assuming that is correct, the DeeMaxx Disc Brake Kit # DE66AR is the correct kit for your 5th wheel.

The old Tekonsha Voyager XP is not EOH compatible so it will be time for an upgrade. For a really reliable option I recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller # RED52VR. This comes with a universal wiring harness for installation. If you can tell me what vehicle you have I can see if a custom wiring harness is available.

Where are you headed once you get the brakes replaced?

Our towing vehicle is a 1999 Ford F-550 with 7.3 Powerstroke and automatic transmission. Thanks!

@JimF does it have a factory brake controller port? The # RED96CR comes with a custom wiring harness that fits 1999 Ford models. If you have a port, We don't have specific fitment for an F-550 but if that square 6-pin plug matches the port on your vehicle it is safe to assume it will work. You can still splice if you want to or need to as well.

You give etrailer your axle information and they'll send you everything in the kit that you're going to need. (Minus the bearing grease ). And brake fluid. Installation was very easy and straightforward. You may want to change the brake controller. You will be amazed at the difference in how well the disc stop compared to the drum system you currently have.

Hello The Deemax brakes work great They were an easy install. Just make sure you torque all of the bolts on the calipers. I had one work loose and a bolt came out and it was rocking back and forth and loosened the brake line and lost fluid. I had to order a replacement bolt. I also had to bleed the system on the side of the road. So far, no more issues!!
