Best RV AC Unit Recommendation for 2025 Micro Winnie 2108 FBS in Arizona Heat

Updated 07/20/2026 | Published 06/23/2026

Question:

I have a 2025 Micro Winnie 2108 FBS with a 13.5K BTU Furrion AC. The noise and vibration and restart racket makes it hard to sleep and, here in Arizona, it really struggles in 110 degrees. I need more capacity and a lot quieter. The 15K Furrion was optional, but not included on my rig. I saw that the 15K Furrion cube and the 18K both draw 15.8 watts. Is the 18K variable speed unit a good option? Can I keep my same ducted face plate and thermostat?

Hey Ken, based on everything you mentioned what you would want for sure is the Furrion Chill Cube for Ducted applications part # FR39TD. This is 18k btu which is a lot higher than what you have now and would for sure be needed in the Arizona heat. I was just in Phoenix a couple weeks ago and the heat there is no joke! This will actually keep your RV cool instead of just slightly less hot.

It will require an all new lower air box and thermostat though as what you have now is not compatible with it. You will also really like how quiet this is compared to what you have now. This is the quietest option available and since it has a variable speed compressor it doesn't come on super hard like what you have now. How hot does it get in your RV with your current setup in the AZ heat?

Thx for the info. When it’s 115 outside, I can maintain about 84 degrees, until the Sun starts to set with my 13.5k current AC.

@KenG That's pretty impressive. Normally they say RV AC units can only do around 20 degrees from ambient but you're living proof it's not that simple!

My current 13.5K Furion AC is a 2025 and R32 refrigerant. Do I still need a new ADB?

@KenG Normally you wouldn't but the ADB of your Furrion AC unit is not the same as the Chill Cube so you would need to replace that as well.
