Trailer Recommendation for 2 Heavier Kayaks

Updated 06/24/2026 | Published 06/22/2026

Question:

Im considering buying 2 Fluxjet kayaks, 11 long, 122 pounds plus battery each. Which Malone trailers would you recommend for side by side transport? LowBed, Likely bunks, front wheel to hand dolly? Can it come with retractable tongue? What is the difference between Off Road and On Road? I see people complaining that the lights fail upon submerging can you supply upgraded lights? I dont need extra storage or features. Thanks

Hey Ray, based on everything you mentioned the Malone LowBed Microsport for Heavy Kayaks part # MAL25FR would be what I would recommend as it's the low bed style like you wanted, has the weight capacity needed for heavier kayaks like you have, and is on-road. This does not have a retractable tongue option though so if you wanted to add that you would need the part # MPG494.

The difference between off-road and on-road is the type of tires that it comes with. On-road just means you'll be on paved roads and off-road like part # MAL37ER would be for if you were going to be off paved roads.

There isn't an upgraded taillight kit but these shouldn't have issues for you.
