Wire Gauge On Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness For 2012 Lexus RX 450h

Question:
I have a 2012 Lexus RX450h with factory tow package. I just need the plug and play 4pin wiring harness. Im looking at the Curt 56083 harness but cant find specifications for wire gauge listed. Can you tell me where these specs can be verified?

Hey Rob! The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package # 56083 uses 16 gauge wire. Curt doesn't list this anywhere because all of their wiring is more than capable of handling anything required of a 4-way. I reached out to Curt and verified this information directly.

Hi Rob, Simply put, you’re sending a bit of power to your tail lights, brake lights, turn signal lights, and license plate light and the 16 gauge wire in this harness is substantially robust enough to handle the current draw that trailer lights require.

I found the plug and play harness very easy to install and works great. That being said I found for my 2022 RX350 F-Sport I also needed an additional wire harness that plugs inside the vehicle in the right side rear fender to provide the signals to the cable. This additional cable also includes an additional module as well.
