I have a 2005 chevy silverado 6.6 l diesel, extended cab, long bed, dually. What would be the best class V receiver witha towing capacity of 20,000lbs. The factory installed hitch failed and will be cut off prior to installation. Thanks

Sorry to hear about that failure, hope no one was hurt and nothing was damaged.
Since you're replacing the factory hitch due to a failure, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C15703 is the highest-capacity custom-fit option we offer for your truck. While there is not a 20,000 lb rated custom-fit receiver available for this application, the # C15703 is rated for up to 18,000 lbs gross trailer weight and 2,700 lbs tongue weight, making it an excellent heavy-duty replacement.
This hitch mounts directly to the truck's frame rails and does not rely on any portion of the factory receiver. Before installing the new hitch, I'd recommend inspecting the frame mounting locations for any rust, cracks, or damage to make sure you have a solid foundation for the new receiver. I attached an installed picture so you can see where to inspect under the truck.
The hitch itself is rated for 18,000 lbs, but I would also check your owner's manual to see what Chevrolet rates your specific truck to tow. You always want to follow the vehicle manufacturer's towing capacity and use the lowest-rated component in the towing setup.
One thing to keep in mind is that the # C15703 uses a 2-1/2" receiver opening. If your current ball mount or other hitch-mounted accessories have a 2" shank, you can continue using them with the etrailer Magnetic Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeve # e28JR. This reducer sleeve allows your existing 2" accessories to fit the new receiver, which can save you from having to replace equipment you already own.
