Updated 10/28/2026 | Published 10/27/2026

Question:

What is the Best Replacement Receiver Hitch for a 2007 new body Chevy Silverado 3500 6.6 Diesel ? I need it to measure 32 inches from hole to hole, because the one I bought is too big. I mean the distance from frame rail to frame rail. 32inch

Hi Rudy!

Sorry to hear that first hitch didn't work out for you. Do you by chance have a cab and chassis model? And are you measuring from inside to inside to get that 32"?

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class V Commercial Duty - 2-1/2" # C15800 sounds more like what you are looking for as it measures much more closely to what you got. I included a pretty detailed diagram laying out all this hitches measurements as well. This is also super heavy duty (which looks to be what you are wanting), so I think this is going to be your best option.

What are you going to be towing? And would you like to get the first hitch returned? I can help out with that.

Yes, that measurement you sent is the one I need. I would like to return the first one I bought from you—what should I do?

@RudyS I will get a return label emailed out to you. If you don't see it in the next 24 hours, check your spam folder. They like to end up there from time to time. And in the mean time, let me know if there is anything else I can help with!

@LazerS So, what I need to do is buy the new one first, and then once I send back the one I have here, you'll refund my money?

@RudyS Either that or you can send back the wrong one and we can refund you and then you can order the correct one. Whatever works best for you.
