What Suspension Upgrade do I Need for My 2025 Tundra with In-Bed Camper?

Updated 06/04/2026 | Published 05/28/2026

Question:

Ive got questions about the rear suspension on my 2025 Tundra. It has the factory TRD Lift and I think it could use a heavier weight capacity since I have a Tune camper and Decked drawer system in there it just feels a little squishy in the back now. What are some options for this?

Hello Dan,

Looks like you already found the beefier option.

The Timbren Suspension Enhancement System - Rear Axle # T45MR with the Spacer Kit for Timbren Suspension Enhancement System # T33AV is exactly what I'd recommend for your setup. Since you're carrying the Tune camper and Decked drawer system full-time, you have a constant load on the rear suspension, which is where the Timbren system really shines.

The Timbren springs replace the factory bump stops and provide additional support as the suspension compresses, helping reduce rear-end sag, body roll, and that "squishy" feeling you're experiencing. Because the weight is always in the bed, the Timbrens will be engaged more consistently and help keep the truck level and stable without requiring any maintenance, adjustments, or air pressure management.

For a constant-load application like yours, I prefer the Timbren setup over air bags since there's nothing to monitor or maintain, and they provide reliable support every time you drive. I attached an installed picture.

Have you been able to get out for some boondocking in your Tune Camper?

Cool. That’s what I ended up ordering yesterday. Yes, we spent 3 nights in it on the way back from Colorado. My favorite was the night in the Alvord Desert in Southeast Oregon. Partial moon, lots of stars in the sky and coyotes yipping in the distance.

@DanB That sounds amazing! I had to look up Alvord Desert, I can see why it was your favorite stop. Thanks for sharing =) - Safe Travels
