Since you want to add a brake controller, you will also need the Curt # C56040 and the # ETBC7 for your wiring. This is everything you need to add a 7-way to your vehicle.

Then for a brake controller, I would steer clear of a time-delayed model. You want a proportional brake controller for smooth, reliable braking. This also means less wear on the vehicle and trailer brakes. Without a doubt, the best option is the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty # RED52VR.
