Do Spacers of etrailer Hitch for 2022 Subaru Crosstrek Have to be Used

Question:
I installed on a 22 crosstrek. All went as planned per the video. My question is about the spacers the 2 spacers that go between the hitch the car frame as discussed in the video. The video says to install them, the instructions say use as needed. With them installed, the hitch is not level. For towing with a ball... no big deal. But it tips the bike rack toward the car. This might be fine? Im just checking to see if there is a reason to use them or how to know WHEN to use them. Thanks!

The spacers that come with the etrailer hitch that fits your 2022 Subaru Crosstrek are designed to be used as a way to level the hitch as needed. So if using them causes your hitch to not sit level I would recommend removing them.
