Can I Use Side Mount Swivel Jack On Boat Trailer AND My Camper That Has 3 Bolt Tongue Jack?

Question:

I have two trailers: a small camper with a triangle 3-bolt jack mount and a fishing boat trailer with a side jack and wheel. Can I use the same drill-powered jack on both, or do I need different styles? Going to buy 2 jacks of course but wanted to make it easy.

Hey Russell! You’ll most likely want different styles, but there is a chance the same side-mount jack could work on both trailers depending on the camper frame.

For the camper with the standard A-frame mount, the straightforward fit is the etrailer Manual Sidewind Trailer Jack w/SnapPad and Drill Adapter - A-Frame # e38AV. It bolts into the common 3" on-center 3-bolt pattern, has a 2,000 lb capacity, and includes the 3/4" socket for drill operation.

For the boat trailer, the better fit is the etrailer Sidewind Aluminum Jack with Wheel - Swivel Bolt - 1.5K # e95YV. That one mounts to the side of the frame, swivels up for travel, includes a wheel, and uses a 19mm socket for drill operation.

You might be able to use # e95YV on the camper too, as long as both trailers have enough room along the frame for the jack to mount and swivel, and both frames are 2" to 4" tall. The big thing is that # e95YV is a side-mount jack, not a bolt-in replacement for the center A-frame jack hole. Russell, if you send over a picture of each trailer tongue, I can help confirm whether one jack style could realistically cover both trailers.
