Wiring License Plate Bracket Light # LP55CB to Kia Niro Taillights

Question:
Im looking at getting part number LP55CB, the license plate mount with an incandescent lamp. My car is a 2018 Kia Niro PHEV, and I havent tapped into the wiring in this car yet. I do have experience doing it for my previous cars. Since this unit only needs one 12V running wire and one ground wire, I dont want to bother with the expense and extra work of wiring a 4-way flat connector. Whats the simplest way to add the needed connectors in the car, and what corresponding connector would I need to add to the license plate mount leads?

Hey Seth, in order to wire in the license plate light part # LP55CB to your Niro's wiring you'd need to run the black wire to the running light circuit of your vehicle and then ground the white wire. You'd need to test the wiring that runs to the taillight assemblies till you find the circuit that is hot only when the headlights are on and use it.
