Hello, What do you recommend for a Honda Civic 2017 Sedan? I need to carry 3 bikes. Honda will not provide any information on maximum weight a hitch can take. Regards,

If you are looking to transport 3 bikes with one piece of equipment then your best option is to go with a trunk mount bike rack. The only trailer hitches available for your 2017 Honda Civic Sedan are Class I trailer hitches and they can only carry up to 2 bikes. A roof rack is another option but it would be easier to load your bikes onto a trunk mount bike rack.

I recommend going with the Yakima FullBack # Y02633 if you do not have the Si which can carry up to 3 bikes with a max weight of 30 lbs per bike. The included bike and rack locks give you some peace of mind when you have to make a quick pit-stop.

If you do have the Si then the only trunk mount options that we have are for 2 bikes like the Thule Passage # TH910XT. This has a weight capacity of 35 lbs per bike. It doesn't include locks but you can add them with parts # TH533 and # e98891.

You may also be interested in the Softride Soft Hook-and-Loop Tie Downs # SR54FR to help keep your front tire from potentially damaging another bike or making contact with your vehicle. If any of your bikes have an alternative frame that doesn't have a horizontal cross tube like a traditional men's bike then an adapter bar like part # UB01 is recommended. This will help keep your bike level and increase ground clearance.
