Question:

How does this weld-on? It looks like a bolt-on to me. Im trying to replace the Fulton jacks weve been using, that were: weld-on, side-wind, wheeled -preferably 8, at least 10inch lift. Thoughts?

Hey Jon, welcome back. The adapter plate included with the Ultimate Trailer Jack item # UJ44FR can be welded directly to your trailer's frame. You can also use the included hardware and brackets to bolt it to your trailer's frame.

The Ultimate Trailer Jack item # UJ44FR is a 1,500 lbs capacity jack with a 27-1/2" total lift. It is zinc plated for corrosion resistance and includes a 5-3/4" wheel. This would be a great replacement for your older Fulton Jack.

This is a surprisingly heavy jack for a 1,500 lb rating. For most applications, the bolt on (really clamp on) option should work well and install in minutes. I also like the fact that wheel swivels easily on hard surfaces.

Hmmm...Is the weldable surface permanently attached to the jack? Can the jack be replaced without cutting off the old bracket? I'm the owner of Oregon Trail'R, a teardrop trailer manufacturer. I only like weld on brackets, and I need to be able to replace the jack easily for service issues. Also, I would like to find something with a larger ~8" wheel. I would love to use one of the ARK jacks, but I need weld-on, not clamp-on. I think ARK does make a version like that, but I haven't seen in on your site. Thoughts?

@Jon The Ultimate Trailer Jack item # UJ44FR can definitely be removed from the bracket. There's a pull pin that allows you to remove the drop leg and slide the jack up and off the bracket. The Ark Xtreme Off-Road Tube Mount Swivel Trailer Jack item # ARK39FR is going to be the closest comparable option to what you're looking for. The bracket is constructed from steel so you could clean off the finish and weld it directly to your trailer's tongue. We do not have and I do not know of a Ark jack that's designed specifically to be welded on.
