Question:
I have a 2006 Arctic Fox 26x that needs the equalizers and bushings replaced. Would the Lippert Road Armor or the MORryde CRE3009be better? Ive heard the MORryde HD shackles are better than the Lippert HD shackles. If the Lippert equalizer is better, could I use the other shackles with it? Your help and advise would be most appreciated.

Hey Lynn, thanks for reaching out. I can help you with this.
Between those two equalizers, the CRE3000 is definitely what I recommend. It has more ability to travel and more potential for shock absorption than other equalizers. Plus, it is usually more affordable. We will just want to make sure the dimensions of the CRE3000 match the dimensions of your stock equalizer - you can't go off just the wheelbase measurement. The MORryde Rubber Equalizers # MR87ZR is 6-1/2" long and 3-1/4" tall. I've included a picture below that shows the dimensions. Please compare this to your equalizer and make sure it matches or is at least within the +/- 1/2" tolerance. If it doesn't match just let me know your dimensions.
You are absolutely right about the MORryde HD shackle kits - that's definitely the way to go. You'll just want to check the length of the stock shackles to make sure we match that up. They should be either 2-1/4" or 3-1/8" long center hole to center hole but please confirm that and pick from the following:
- MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit for Tandem Axle Trailers - 2-1/4" Long Shackle Straps # MR46ZR
- MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit for Tandem Axle Trailers - 3-1/8" Long Shackle Straps # MR76ZR
Those will be some solid upgrades for you. The equalizer does a great job absorbing road shock, and the wet bolt kit really helps quiet down and smooth out the suspension. Plus, with proper maintenance, they can easily last the life of the trailer.
Oh, and to answer your other question, it would be fine to mix and match brands with the equalizer and bolt kit. I just prefer all the MORryde stuff so that's what I recommend sticking with.
What's the first trip you have planned once you get the suspension replaced?
