This base kit mounts Rhino-Rack Vortex, Sportz, Reconn-Deck bars, and Pioneer platforms (sold separately) to factory fixed mounting points on the Nissan X-Trail Gen 4 (T33), creating stable mounting points for rooftop cargo, bike racks, kayaks, and platform systems. The kit includes front and rear base kits and installation hardware. The vehicle-specific base design helps simplify roof rack installation using the factory mounting locations already built into your X-Trail roof.

Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this Rhino Rack roof rack base kit. Now, this kit is the vehicle-specific foundation that's going to let you build a Rhino Rack system on a Nissan X-Trail Gen 4, also known as the T33. So the X-Trail already has fixed mounting points that are built into the roof, and these four bases are going to bolt into those factory locations to give you those secure attachment points for the rest of the rack. So this kit is designed to work with the Rhino Rack RX300, RCH, and RCL leg assemblies. And depending on the rest of your setup, it can support Rhino Rack Vortex, Sportz, or Reconn-Deck bars, as well as Pioneer platforms.
So that's going to make this useful for those who eventually want to carry things like bikes, kayaks, cargo, or other roof-mounted accessories. And this is important because this is not a complete roof rack by itself. You're getting the four bases here. And I have this kind of set up as you're facing the rear of the vehicle. So you have rear left, rear right, front right, and front left.
So from back to front, that's kind of how I have this set up here. So you're going to get the four bases, along with hardware here, the M6 by 20-millimeter flange bolts, instructions. Also going to get a hex wrench there, but instructions also to guide you through the installation process. From there, you pair the bases with compatible Rhino Rack legs, and then add the crossbars or the platform that you want. One of the main advantages is that this does use your vehicle's existing factory mounting points rather than relying on a more universal mounting method.
The bases are also made from lightweight cast aluminum, so they're designed to give you a solid mounting point without adding unnecessary bulk, and you're not going to have to worry about them rusting or corroding or anything like that.
