Looking For Replacement Hubs, Wheels And Tires For Mastercraft Boat Trailer
Updated 04/30/2026 | Published 04/26/2026 >
Question:
Hi. I want to buy replacement hubs, wheel and tires for my trailer. Can you help me find the correct parts? The boat is 1987 Mastercraft prostar. The trailer says Mastercraft. Im not 100 confident it is or is not the original trailer. The trailer axle says bearing buddy. Are there measurements or other information is could get for you to help? Thanks, Mark

Hey Mark, thanks for reaching out. I can definitely help point you in the right direction, but we will need to gather some information to be sure you get getting the right thing.
For the hubs, I will need to know your axle weight capacity, as well as your bearing sizes. If you can make out the casting number on your hub, I may be able to use that to pull up your axle/hub info. Otherwise, you'll need to pull a hub and remove the bearings. Each bearing should have a number stamped on the edge, or you can measure the ID with a micrometer. Knowing the axle weight capacity can also help narrow things down. Sometimes these older trailers use oddball/obsolete bearing sizes so hopefully that isn't the case here.
For the wheels and tires, if you can tell me what tire size you are currently running, I can recommend a replacement. We should be able to match the wheel bolt pattern to the new hubs.
Shoot me that info when you get a chance and I'm happy to look into it and make some recommendations.
Do you have a preference on the wheel type? Do you want aluminum or just steel wheels?

I put these tires and rims on my vanguard trailer, trailering a 2005 Lund Fisherman at around 3200 lbs. I have logged about 5000 miles since. I love these wheels and will put these tires on again when the time comes.

Looks almost like the original tires on my trailer. Ordered it to use as a spare so I have not had to use it! ??But I will say it looks sweet!! The customer service was really good and the tire was safely shipped in a box and arrived very quickly!
