Does etrailer Electric Trailer Jack Require Grease

Updated 04/28/2026 | Published 04/25/2026

Question:

I am wondering how you would take this a part to service and grease the screw that is on the inside of the jack. I bought the e22QV for my horse trailer. Im excited not to have to manually raise that heavy thing up anymore!! Thank you... Penny

Hey Penny! I'm glad you're excited about the etrailer Electric Trailer Jack w/ 7-Way and SnapPad # e22QV. The jack is a sealed unit and not designed to be taken apart. Also, it does not require any grease for maintenance. I wouldn't try to add grease since the grease can capture dirt and cause problems for the jack.

Where are you headed next with the horses?

I am headed to Bend Oregon for a clinic and then back to Monroe Washington for a big show! Lots of horse camping in between!! Thank you for the answer. My older hand crank jack disintegrated, so I didn't want that to happen to this one. I wanted to do proper maintenance so it has a very long life and many adventures to come. Don't want to get stranded!! Have a Wonderful day! Penny

@Penny that sounds like an amazing trip, Bend and Monroe are both great spots for horse events and camping! You’re on the right track thinking about maintenance, but this jack is built to be low-maintenance and sealed up to keep you rolling without the hassle. Safe travels and enjoy every mile with those horses!
