Question:
Hi! I have a 1980 Fleetwood camper trailer with a knob on the entry door. Can I convert that to something electronic? I’d like to get away from the knob sticking out and get something more streamlined. I’m pretty handy - can I cut the door to make a modern latch fit? Thanks!

Welcome back Christopher!
If you do not mind cutting into the door, then we definitely have options for you. I have three of those options listed below:
Global Link RV Entry Door Locking Latch Kit with Keyed Alike Option - Bluetooth - Black # GL55VR
Bauer NE RV Entry Door Lock for Trailers - Bluetooth - Right Handed # BA53UR
Global Link RV Lock with Bluetooth Connectivity # GL62VR
All of these have touch pads as well as Bluetooth connectivity, which is pretty cool. The # GL55VR and # BA53UR fit the fairly standard 3-3/4" tall x 2-3/4" wide cutout, but the # GL62VR is a little bit of an oddball and will need a 4.6" x 6.9" cutout. It's pretty pricey and I would probably go with one of the other two, but still figured I would mention it.
Cool camper as well! We don't see these too terribly often. What's the next trip you have planned with it?

Hi, Lazer. It is a cool camper - it is the official travel trailer of the 1980 Winter Olympics. What I'm getting from you is that I'll have to put a modern lock in. Thanks.
