I have a 2023 Trailmaster boat trailer, model SMRE1512, with a side marker out. Looks like your MC95AB, with one wire. How do I open this to replace the bulb?

Hey David, thanks for reaching out. The Optronics Mini Trailer Clearance or Side Marker Light # MC95AB is factory sealed so there actually isn't an easy way to remove the lens and replace the bulb. If yours has burned out, the best bet is to replace the entire light with a new one. Luckily, they are very easy to install and wire in. Plus, they aren't terribly expensive.

What kind of boat are you trailering?

While it is true you cannot change the bulbs in the Optronics Mini Trailer Side Marker Lights, they are fairly durable and don't cost too much to replace if they do fail. I have 5 on each side of my tandem axle EZ Loader boat trailer. 8 of them are submersed each time I launch and load my boat. They are over a year and a half old now. None have failed. One has gotten some moisture inside of it, but it's still burning. I think they are a good choice.

@BobB That’s a great real-world test, especially being submerged that often. Glad to hear they’re holding up and still doing their job even with a little moisture, that’s about what you’d expect out of that style light. Appreciate you sharing your setup.
