Suspension Enhancement for 2023 Toyota Tundra Towing TT With WDH

Updated 03/24/2026 | Published 03/22/2026

Question:

Hi, I have a large 32.5’ travel trailer that I will now be towing with a 2023 Toyota Tundra CrewMax that has the V6 Twinturbo engine. I am looking to prevent sag and improve handling. I do use a weight distribution hitch. The weight of the camper is 8600 lbs unloaded and the tongue weight is 850 lbs. I will only be towing it a couple of times a year unloaded since we rent the camper out through an agency. Am I better off with the Timbren Camper suspension system or the summo’s? If the summis are the way to go should I go with the black or blue ones? Im a little confused with the weight capacity that I am seeing under the specs section. Id like to prevent having a rough ride during eveey day use. If you can let me know I’d appreciate it. Thank you, Matt

Hey Matt! Since your concern is ride quality you definitely want the SumoSprings over the Timbren. The blue # SS46PV have more than enough capacity for your application and won't have a negative impact on your ride when you aren't towing or hauling. Adding these with your weight distribution hitch will get your truck level and improve your towing experience overall.

What kind of travel trailer do you have and where do you usually go camping?
